Asociación Evangelica Nueva Vida "AENV" is a non-profit organization that is based on the pursuit of justice. We work in favour of the marginalised who are oppressed, suppressed and depressed. When society does not give a second chance, we give hope to the hopeless and a new life.
We live in an unequal and unjust world with few values. Happiness is not possible without believing in equality and working for others. AENV is the voice of the silent and the eyes of the blind. Inspired by the Holy Bible which says:
"He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God".
AENV is a combination of utmost commitment, hard work and selflessness. I have no words to express my gratitude for the technical staff and the volunteers who are an essential part of Nueva Vida family. I deeply acknowledge their work and positive attitude. We work with people who are deprived of liberty and are at risk of social exclusion. We work closely with such people in order to dignify their life. AENV works in different areas with people at risk of social exclusion:
2. Women suffering from abuse and sexual exploitation
We provide shelter, medical healthcare and job placement programs to the victims, both men and women. We have been helping people restore their dignity and so far this venture has been a great success. Our Mental Health Program, funded by La Caixa (a local bank) has been tremendously influential for the inclusion and social normalization of inmates and ex-inmates.
AENV has taken a bold step forward, for being the only NGO in Cantabria to welcome refugees. During the next 18 months, we will receive 60 refugees. Our team of experts consists of social workers, psychologists, lawyers, administrators, language teacher, who will help the refugees to integrate into local society and restart their lives.
PFor others, "help" is simply just a noun or a verb but for us, it's a passion. If we all come together and play our part, our joint effort will mean so much to others who are in need. Thanks!!!
