INTERVENTION PROGRAMS WITH THE INCARCERATED POPULATION

In collaboration with the General Secretary of Penitentiary Institutions of the Ministry of the Interior, the entity carries out a set of programs aimed at promoting and facilitating the social and labor integration of the incarcerated population.

At the “El Dueso” Penitentiary Center (Cantabria) programs are developed for the promotion of mental health and therapeutic intervention or re-education programs. 

  • Comprehensive mental health promotion program.
  • Therapeutic intervention programs for gender based violence crimes.
  • Program for the prevention of cannabis use.

On the other hand, through the “José Hierro” Social Integration Centre alternative measures programmes are developed for people convicted of various types of crimes.

  • PRIA-MA – Intervention programme for aggressors convicted of gender-based violence with alternative measures.
  • PROBECO – Intervention, awareness-raising and re-education programme in social skills. 
  • Mental health program.
  • Probation monitoring programme.
  • Community service program.
  • Encounter Program (domestic violence).

Likewise, the prison population has the possibility of taking part in the Reincorpora social and labour integration programmeof the La Caixa Foundation.

In addition, the institution has a residential and comprehensive care program. The reception facility serves inmates with release permits, those on parole or those on definitive release, as well as their families, and provides comprehensive coverage that includes, among others, socio-educational care, psychological support and legal advice.

The programmes aimed at the prison population are co-financed by the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030, the Botín Foundation and the La Caixa Foundation.
