INTERNATIONAL PROTECTION PROGRAM

The Nueva Vida Association is part of the so-called “International Protection Reception System (SAPI)” financed by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE. TO WHOM IS IT DIRECTED?

Within the framework of this action, the entity supports people and families who are asylum seekers or beneficiaries of international protection. The support is provided both in Cantabria and in Bizkaia, where the entity has reception resources and a team of experts in social care.

SERVICES OR RESOURCES:

  • Accommodation, satisfaction of basic needs andsocial care.
  • Psychological support.
  • Legal or administrative assistance.
  • Training and employment promotion.
  • Translation and interpretation.
  • Spanish learning (for non-Spanish speaking people).
  • Promotion of socio-cultural adaptation.

This Program is developed in several phases, moving from a shelter or reception center to an independent home, with the aim of ensuring that people in this situation obtain the documentation that allows them to begin an autonomous and independent life in the host society.

It is important to note that not all users of the program request all the available services. In this sense, the Program adapts to the needs of each person, providing in each case the requested services such as, for example, support in legal or administrative processes, provision of information on immigration policy or support in the search for employment.
